From the legendary Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa, the equally legendary spices island, Zanzibar, this safari also takes you to Lake Natron and the active volcano Ol Donyo Lengai, the famous Ngorongoro Crater, the Tarangire National Park and the fabulous Usambara Mountains without forgetting the only park bordering the Indian Ocean, Saadani.

Day 1: Kilimanjaro Airport – Kilimanjaro West.

Arrival at the airport, customs and immigration formalities, welcome by your guide and transfer by car to Kilimanjaro West. Coffee, briefing and introduction to your BMW G 650 GS. Dinner and overnight at Ndarakwai ou Kilimanjaro West Camp

 Route: 40 kilometres of trails and 110 kilometres of paved road.

Day 2: Kilimanjaro West – Lake Natron

Back on the main road, past Mount Longido where we will take the path that will lead us to Lake Natron. Arrival mid-afternoon.  Dinner and overnight at Lake Natron Tented Camp.

Route: 160 kilometres of tracks and 30 kilometres of tarmacked road.

Day 3: Lake Natron – Karatu.

Breakfast and tour of Lake Natron, we will also pass at the foot of an active volcano, Lengai and descend towards Lake Manyara and the small town of Karatu and finally Plantation Lodge that will be our base for exploring the Ngorongoro Crater.  Dinner and overnight at Plantation Lodge.

Route: 120 kilometres of trails and 40 kilometres of paved roads.

Day 4: Karatu – Ngorongoro – Karatu

Day of rest for the motorcycles and safari in the crater of Ngorongoro in a 4X4 with picnic.  Dinner and overnight at Plantation Lodge.

Route: 150 kilometres of tracks in a 4X4. 

Day 5: Karatu – Lake Eyasi. 

Breakfast and 50 kilometres of slow tracks to get to Lake Eyasi.  The area is wild and is inhabited by the Wadatoga herders and Hadza hunter-gatherers. In the afternoon, we will do a tour of the Lake. Meals and overnight at Kisima Ngeda Tented Camp.

Route: 150 km of trails.

Day 6: Lake Eyasi – Tarangire National Park

Breakfast and return by a trail passing below Lake Manyara then we join the main road that goes back to Arusha and to Lake Burunge in Tarangire National Park. Dinner and overnight at Lake Burunge Tented Camp.

 Route: 150 kilometres of tracks.

Jour 7: Parc National de Tarangire – Moshi.

Breakfast and continuation by tarmac road to Arusha and forward to the small town of Moshi, base for climbing Kilimanjaro. Arrival in the afternoon, installation at the hotel. Dinner and overnight at Marangu Hotel.

Route: 200 kilometre’s tarmacked road.

Day 8: Moshi – Usambara Mountains.

Departure from Moshi and descent towards the East of the country to join the fantastic Usambara mountains. The last 70 kilometers of track will take us through forests, valleys and hills in a fantastic landscape that we will bring us to the Mambo View Point Eco-lodge which offers an incomparable view over the surrounding Plains and Mount Kilimanjaro. Dinner and overnight in the Mambo View Point Eco-lodge.

Route: 70 kilometres of tracks and 180 kilometres of paved road.

Day 9: Usambara Mountains – Saadani National Park.

After crossing the Usambara Mountains, we will re-join the road to Dar Es Salaam and turn towards the Indian Ocean to join the Saadani National Park.  Afternoon walk in this beautiful park located on the shores of the Indian Ocean.  Dinner and overnight at Saadani Safari Lodge.

Route: 120 kilometres of tracks and 180 kilometres of paved road.

Day 10: Saadani National Park – Bagamoyo – Dar Es Salaam.

After an early morning safari we will follow the coast to Bagamoyo, former slave town with a colourful past and we say farewell to our rides to be transferred by car to the Dar Es Salaam airport for the return flight or for those who want to take advantage of the close proximity of Zanzibar, to a short flight to the Spice Island.

Route: 70 kilometres of tracks and 70 kilometres of paved road by car.
