A nice and easy safari across Maa speaking country where you will meet Samburu and Masai warriors and the Rift Valley lakes plus the World renowned Masai Mara Game Reserve.
Day 1: Nairobi – Mount Kenya
Arrival at the airport, customs and immigration formalities. Welcome by your guide and transfer by car to the hotel. After crossing the Equator, arrive for lunch and installation at Kongoni Lodge. Afternoon at leisure followed by a briefing and introduction to your BMW G650GS or Husaberg 390. Dinner and overnight at Kongoni Lodge.
Route: 200 kilometres of paved road.
Day 2: Mount Kenya – Laikipia – Maralal
Early breakfast then depart to Maralal across the Laikipia plateau. After 30kms.of asphalt, we take a track to Lodokejek. These 110kms. of often fast tracks pass through the fabulous scenery of the Laikipia plateau which is inhabited by both the Maasai people and interesting wildlife. After crossing the Ewasyo Nyiro River, we drive to Wamba, in Samburu country, on a wide and fast track. We then continue on a smaller trail leading to the North of the country. We leave this trail in Barsaloi to follow an even smaller trail which will take us through the Maralal sanctuary and into Maralal itself (190 km). Dinner and accommodation at Ngari Hills Guest House.
Route: 200kms. of track and 30kms. of paved road.
Day 3: Maralal – Lake Baringo
Breakfast, then170kms. of track to Lake Baringo through Pokot country. Check in for a late lunch. Remainder of the afternoon at leisure. Meals and overnight at Island Camp.
Route: 150 kilometers of tracks and 20 km of bad tarmac.
Day 4: Lake Baringo – Lake Bogoria – Lake Elmentaita
An (optional) opportunity to take a morning boat trip to see hippos, crocodiles and the large variety of birds that inhabit the Lake. Breakfast, after which we take the road to Lake Bogoria (60kms.) to visit the hot springs and see the flamingos. We continue on to reach the crater of Menengai and then the track to Mbweha Camp near Lake Elmentaita in the Congreve Conservancy. Dinner and overnight at Mbweha Camp.
Route: 84 kilometres of track and 72 kilometres of paved roads.
Day 5: Lake Elmentaita – Masai Mara
Breakfast, then drive through the Conservancy to take the track reaching the Mau Escarpment and down into the Masai plains. On the first 110kms. the track will cross rural landscapes and forests to join the paved road leading to the small town of Narok (20kms. of asphalt) and continue until the end of the tarmac (54kms.). The last 130kms. of track will be a real safari which will allow you to see the animals that inhabit the Savannah. Meals and overnight at Sekenani Camp.
Route: 240 kilometers.
Day 6: Masai Mara
Day of rest for the motorcycles. Game Reserve safaris morning and afternoon in 4X4 to approach the wildlife that you cannot get close to on a motorcycle: lions, elephants, buffaloes. Meals and overnight at Sekenani Camp.
Route: 100 km of track in 4X4.
Day 7: Masai Mara – Lake Magadi
Breakfast, then return to Narok and proceed to the foot of Mount Suswa where we take the track which passes under the Ngong Hills to the road to Magadi. 80kms. of paved road across a landscape of lava and scattered acacia trees to reach the salty Lake Magadi. Mid-afternoon, arrive at Loisijio Camp. Meals and overnight at Loisijio Camp.
Route: 155 kilometres.
Day 8: Lake Magadi – Nairobi
A lazy morning. We will finish with a tour around the Lake to admire the landscapes and also the wildlife that inhabit the area. Back to Nairobi by mid-afternoon. A farewell drink and transfer to the airport for the return flight.
Route: 150 kilometres.
